2 cm K.w.K. 30/38 used as light flak mostly in H.K.B. in Norway , France
and maybe other parts . The photo's that I found are only of the upperpart
of the gun and I want to know how it was fixed in a bettung did they have a
iron or concrete pivot . Thanks in advance .

Photo's = A. Chazette and Ebay.de

2,0 cm Flak

#2

Post by Luchtkastelen 40-45 » 11 Jun 2007, 12:20

Jos,

the usual configuration for 2,0 cm Flak 30/38 was on a tripod with removable wheels, like in the foto's below (Waffen-Arsenal Band 142). In (semi-)fixed positions this resulted in a concrete or wooden raised triangle-shaped platform. This seems to be the standard for Luftwaffe Flak Stellen.
However, the foto's you posted show some kind of Sockel-lafette, which I would normally associate with the Marine. The Sockel would be bolted in it's position. I'll try to produce some pictures of those too.

Rgds, René D.

I'd say it's simply a complete Sockellafette with 2 cm KwK and MG 34 removed from a SdKfz 222 armoured car.
Here's another one, this time mounted on a truck:

Thanks Rene and Grzesio

The 2 cm K.w.K. 30/38 flak on the photo were original used in recon-
naisssance cars, halftacks and light tanks in the Hängelafette 38 .
But I don't know if the Hängelafette 38 also used on the guns on the
pictures , I do know that 2 cm Hängelafette was used in the Ringstand
Bauform 259 .

Jos,

Generally there were two types of 2 cm KwK + MG installation in armoured cars (etc.) with open turrets - the Sockellafette used by the SdKfz 222 and the 2 cm Haengelafette 38 used by SdKfz 234/1, SdKfz 250/9 etc. The basic difference was that the Sockellafette had a pedestal (what a surprise! ;) ) bolted to the vehicle frame, i.e. literally standing on the floor, while the turret acted as a protective armour only - it was not a structural part of the mount, and in the case of Haengelafette the cradle was actually mounted with trunnions to the turret walls, i.e. the turret acted as the upper carriage.
That's why these guns in the photos cannot rather be mounted in Haengelaffete.

Hi Grzesio

Thanks for making this clear for me , so the guns on the first
3 pictures and your photo could only be from the Sd.Kfz. 222 .

Hello All

This looks like some part of the pivot of the 2 cm Kw.K. and a 60 cm searchlight .
Thanks to Thomas and Erik E. found in Norway at H.K.B. Taarnvik
