Stielgranate 41

Postby Pietje » 14 Aug 2007 16:10

Hello everybody,

Was the Stielgranate 41 for the PaK 36 actually used by the Deutsches Afrika Korps? If so when did the DAK first use them and how common where they?

Thanks,

Pietje

Stielgranate 41 is rather a eastern front gadget to give a new breath to the pak36 against soviet armor.
I really doubt german would waste them on the African theather when this front is lost in 1943 and soviet armor is a biggest threat.
But it is just my opinion, i've no document to affirm what i'm saying.

The range is not so spectacular too, so on the open planes of North Africa it is not a nice weapon to use........
