Hello

we ARN) visited this batterie a few years ago. the casemates we have seen (3 of 4, the 4th is in private use) had some higher stairs in the backgound - and the ammunition cellar as per drawing, but according to my pictures no second level in the backsite....

greetings

It is not a doorway, it is just a big niche to store stuff to facilitate the crew and the gun.

i count 8 steps on the picture
that s exactly as on the plan ,
00.jpg
and the height of the niches , looks also very normal (not special to me)

Hmmm, not to have the last word but here is my report:

H1 is higher or more or bigger then H2
I count four steps above the openings not eight not two.

its normal all the H1 are higher then the H2
on the german plan i count 8 steps as in the picture
two other examples (one without steps
00.jpg
and one with a few steps
00 a.jpg
and look at the height of the niches H1 and H2
but you see they changed from bunker to bunker the place of the niches (even one has these niches from the ceiling downward
the number of steps depends on the geography of the land
but as mentioned on german plans some are flat and on the german plan with the most steps (alsdo the latest dated) plan (after the landings in Normandy) they put on 8 steps like on the M 272 here in the sudwall

so as usual you have to measure or drawn each bunker separately but all this is conform german plans

Yes the pictures are clear but the picture of the 3D model is not.
My reaction is about the difference bewteen the picture and the 3D model.

So this :
A.jpg
is not this:
B.JPG
I rest my case ;-)
