Hi Totino
Thanks for the link , the bunkers in Italy seem to be of the same type .
Is there any standardization in the Italian fortifications and fixed models ?

Re: Bunker in Sicily
Good evening to everybody.
In the Italian coastal defense 1940-1943, Sicily and Sardinia were in absolute the more strengthened regions.
In a first time, were built bunker similar to the small ones "circolare 7.000" of the Vallo Alpino.
From the summer of 1942 spread anywhere, as a standard, the smaller pillbox for machine gun, rarer for antitank gun. To complete the defenses along the beaches and in the hinterland, were also built a lot of simple open firing positions for guns and machine guns.
The italian pillbox was also called "postazione circolare monoarma". The ray of shot varied from 240° to 360°. It was projected also a variation, for the airports defense.
The defensive positions of the " coastline band" (fascia costiera) were garrisoned by the Coastal divisions, regiments and brigades.
Along the beaches, the positions had called Fixed nucleuses (Nucleo Fisso)
Then there were road obstructions and road obstructions.
The arcs of containment (arco di contenimento) were lines strengthened behind, to hold back the enemy disembarked up to the arrival of the mobile infantry divisions and the "tactical groups."
Kindest regards
dan
