Hello
Found another one (Panzerwrecks: Source) Photo Caption "One for The Ladies"
What makes me curious is the text:
"Pz.Pkfw. II (Normalserie) Ausf. F - Bauform 229 Bugpanzerdach"
What does "Bugpanzerdach" means ?? Is it just the Steel plate?
Regards

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
i believe Bugpanzerdach refers to the way of using the whole top of the tank where the turret sits, and incorporate that into the concrete. i could be mistaken..
Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
I also think so - top plate of tank with fastened turret, screwed to the concrete.

This is one the thirteen APX2B turrets procured from France and installed by the Belgian Army on the Belgian coast before 1939.

Hi Andrew@ndrew wrote:PzIV from Berlin.
To me the photo looks like a knocked out Pz IV, notice the engine decking plates. The angle the photo was taken makes the tank look like it is lower down than I think it is.

well I'm pretty sure it's tank from Pz.Komp. 'Berlin' which used except: Panthers,Panthertrums also PzIVs.
PzIV turrets were on tank not on bunkers or other types of buildings: just simply dug-in PzIVs. What convince me is the way how it is placed in this urban area: pointing along the street: it's good way of placing Pak.
It was reported that PzIV tanks with suspension or engine defects were used for static defence purposes. Mayby even without engines like well known Panther on Bismarckstrasse. This empty space could be used as additional ammo store(?).
But to be honest: these are my speculations and any other arguments are welcome

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Hi Andrew
Makes sense, it could well be a dug in tank. The British used Vickers Mk II Mediums at Mersa Matruh in much the same way.
