Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Above photos which I mean Sat Apr 12, 2014 6:51 pm -this phot was made by Soviets and it looks to me now like Hillersleben
Second "crane" is built by Demag Hängelafette for Karl barel to shoot into targets from above.
[There was also Anschiesslafette for Karl built in the ground but it is different story].
So it is I-Platz
I disagree Jos: first is typical crane used in building sites mainly in Atlanticwall.jopaerya wrote:Hello Andrzej

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Has anyone been able to get any precise GPS/Google Earth fixes for any of these installations at the training/proving grounds?

Hello
Great pictures Andrzej
The two Czech turrets with twin MG are not the same. Post # 217 is a Pz35(t), Post #224 is a Pz38(t).
Some sources quote that the Pz35(t) with twin MG was fitted with the front plate from the Pz38(t), but the turret on the photo has got the normal Pz35(t) front plate.
greetings
lars

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Hi Lars. The sources are right. For example the Pz35(t) turrets at Norway have 3.7cm KwK 38(t) gun with the whole front plate.Lars Bertelsen wrote:Some sources quote that the Pz35(t) with twin MG was fitted with the front plate from the Pz38(t), but the turret on the photo has got the normal Pz35(t) front plate.

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Correct
I wish to know how each Tobruk with tank turret was placed one after another but now I don't have enough references.
Photo #217 looks like end of this Tobruk line while #224 looks like the begining...

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Thanks Ondrej. I was looking for a picture like this, but I did not find it.
On photo #217 it seems that there are at least two PzII-turrets (normal or rebuild), and a French turret on the number four bunker in the right row. Probably a rebuild APXR turret with twin MG (F.Pz.DT 4808)?? The dark color of the front plate may indicate that it is not an original part of the turret.

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Hello Andrzej
Thanks for the picture. Seems that it is a loose turret, neither a Panzerstellung nor a buried tank.

Hi,
here a turret from Collioure/Südwall. You can see it only from inside, because the turret is burried under a hotel.
