Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Hello
They are not panzer IV or Tiger, they are Panther V specially reused as PaK in (Bo) as Bodenständig (dug in) - and placed on strategic good places in roadcrossings etc. in the final Battle for Berlin 1945.
They were even special "redesigned" - engine removed, special hatches etc. for larger place for ammunition. Also all other equipment that could be used as spareparts were removed.
They were also called "Schadpanzer"
I know it is not "bunkers with tank turrets" but just the same, they are used in the same way!
Pictures are taken after the war in 45 / 46.

Kurt

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Of even more interest in pic 4 are the armored vehicles to the left. They are rare shots of the Alecto 95 mm SP developed from the Mk VII Tetrarch Light Tank. Pictures of this vehicle in active service are very rare.

HI All
The Alectos in the photo are Alecto MkIIs (Alecto Recce) with the 6pdr belonging to the Armoured Car Regiment, Anti tank troop. I think the unit is the 11th Hussars, part of the 7th Armoured Division.
Edit the 94mm armed SPs had a muzzle brake.

One more picture from Berlin, Panzer IV turret, not sure from bunker, digged tank or fallen from exploded tank.

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Hello
A few days ago, I saw a list containing “Bauform 228 = Ringstand für Pz.Kpfw.-Turm FT (f)”.
I have not found any drawing or source for this. Does anybody have information about a “Bauform 228”?

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
It s a new nr in the BF series
its from the 4 series
Anlagen mit drehhauben (nr 226 - 230)
226 fur MG Drehaube Fpz DT 4007) (alte bezeichnung 834P6)
227 Stand fur 1 mann Drehturm (f)
The only thing i can think about is this (for a Ft tank turret but there are many names for this type varyinf from
type 15 (1 x found)
SK renault Pak 3,7 (5x found)
VF Pak Renault 3,7 (6 x found)
Renault Kuppel (1 x found)
VF Renault Kuppel MG 15 (1 x found)
al these names are for the type we call Tobruk U for tankturret
all the german names are found in the same maniscript (german of course and these are the Bauliste from St Nazaire)
and on the Maps of Oye Plage (Nara) there is the nr 1740 for a variant of this
all are 1 m thick there are many variants
231 bis 239 are variants of the Tobruk 67
that is all i can say

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
Dirk is right the Bauform 228 should fit in the "Anlagen mit Drehhauben" but all these old numbers ( two digits )
and new ones ( three digits ) are designed by the "General der Pioniers and Festungen" . The socalled U-tobruk
aka "VF 15" ? was designed by the "Insp.d.Landesbefestigung Ob.West"

Re: Bunkers with tank turrets!
hello dirk, jos,
bizarre in the bauprogram from st nazaire the tobruk U plusieur name "the liste given by dirk". So only un stp "vf15".I think one eror Scriva of Machine, because number of tobruk anonate: 12 and 15 CBN bèton thereafter ? one place on the atlantiwall does not give the type, but various Stp in france, is good evidence.

I do not agree with your words
often a single document provides a key by typology
and only a few other unique examples
it is a évidense !
AC The VF15 and the Typ Nr.1740 is not the same one in St. the other in feldm.
