Hi FLECKTARN ,

you're picture ( Renault) shows a Belgian position on the Belgian coast( as far I can see) , they were integrated by the germans into the AW.

I have been researching French Tank Turrets used in Jersey. Depending on where you look turrets are referred to as Cast (ie early), Omnibus (ie Hexagonal), and Girod or Berliet (Based on the foundry or manufacturer).

Is there a specific difference between the Girod and Berliet? I have seen pictures that refer to a Berliet Turret but with Girod cast on the side. I origionally thought the Girod was cast in one piece and the Berliet cast + rolled, but these also have Girod on the side?

Any help would be appreciated.

Confused - Jeremy from Jersey

Hi all,

A un-armed FT 17 turret mounted onto a Tobruk stand of a 622, Jersey. For some unknown reason this turret is not listed in German records.

Regards,
Malcolm

While we're on the topic, does anyone have photos of the German tank turret(s) in Dieppe from pre-August 1942? I have already seen the one with Canadians climbing on it in 1944 enough times to make me sick, and that one isn't even in Dieppe, but a beach nearby. If I remember correctly it was located next to the harbour mouth and destroyed during the raid.
