Hi all,

I found this image on http://www.fjr2.be/Pagina%2014%20-%20HO ... HOTO'S.htm

I think another 2cm airborne Flak, although I see some differences with the gun of my last photo. Have anyone any other image and/or information of this type of guns?

Thanks in advance. Regards Sturm78

Hi Sturm,

the Czech text is as follows

Lightened version of 2 cm Flak 38 intended for mountain and paratrooper units
Im principle it is a combination of barrel of Flak 38 with a new mounting developed by Gustloff - Werke in Suhl. Weapon was introduced in service in small quantities in 1942. It was used by mountain and paratrooper units. Another model „Sondergeschütze für die Gebirgstruppe“ also existed and was designed for direct fire on land targets and it has lower profile.

PS The marked sentence should rather read: combination of Flak 38 weapon with a new mounting

Hi all,

I found these two images on EBay.

I'm not sure but looking these two images I would say they are 2cm Solothurn guns.
See http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=136241

Now, I think that my images posted on 03 Mar 2009 and the image posted by Radar on 02 Mar 2009 are 2cm Solothurn guns, too, well as the last two pictures of my first post of this thread of 01 Nov 2008

Germans apparently did use Solothurn type 2 cm guns.
After an initial German program of a 2 cm gun for mountain and airborne troops had been delayed, due to failure of the Geraet 239, a delivery of 70 Rheinmetall (i.e. Solothurn) 2 cm tripod mounted guns for Greece was cancelled in early 1941 - and 14 already finished of these Greek guns were to be sent to German airborne troops.
I think, the "2 cm Flak 30 in Sonderlafette" - or however is this airborne gun, suspended under an aircraft, described - actually is an ex-Greek Rheinmetall/Solothurn.

Thanks for your answer, Grzesio.

It's a very reasonable possibility

Another one, the carriage must be "homemade".
According to the caption it must be in the Festing St Nazaire front.
