Re: 15cm K39
Hello Emmanuel, amazing!!
Here we can see very clearly the problem of the cannon, the spreizlafette was not stable enough for the forces acting.
so i think the 15 cm K. 18 was the more robust and popular gun of the 15 cm caliber

Nice videos, Emmanuel !!!
In some sequences is can see that this gun have a dial pointer to each side of the carriage.
I can not see this feature in any of the other images in this thread... Perhaps the gun of the videos is not a standard production gun

The 15 cm K39 was being sold to the Turks as a coast gun. The dial pointers would have been for use as a coast gun and would have been linked to a control room. The dial pointers would be relaying up to date information on the position of the target for the gunners to follow.
When used as a heavy field artillery the observer would radio or telephone the target position and the battery command post would work out the angles of fire. The gun crew would use their dial sight to aim the gun.

Re: 15cm K39
Thank you, Clive.
So, foreign officers who appear in the videos are probably Turkish officers during acceptance trials of this gun model in 1939, no ??
According to Ian V. Hogg, two guns were delivered to Turkish Army before Sep.1939...
After, the Germans dispensed with the the dial pointers on the guns for their own army, although sometimes they used these guns as a coastal artillery....
