Hi everyone !

This is my first post on Axis ! Let me introduce myself :

Aged 55, french historian, writting a book about AOK 7 in Le Mans (France) 42-44, and a biography about General Friedrich DOLLMANN'S life.
President of an association, restoring bunkers.

Here's my request :
Rommel came to visit Dollmann in Le Mans 3 times : 01-22-1944 / 03-09-1944 / 04-14-1944
Von Rundstedt came once in Le Mans : 09-03-1944
Von Kluge came once in Le Mans, too : 07-31-1944

Here's "the big deal" : on his first visit to Le Mans, 01-22-1944, I am absolutely sure that photos were taken by a PK, an even a film !
I actively search all kind of documents relatives to this visit.
Any other document about Dollmann's HQ in Le Mans, bunkers or...whatever... would satisfy me.
I allready have a bunch of documents but I hope you could bring me some new stuff, unknown to me !
The same for Rundstedt's and Kluge's visits in Le Mans.

Please, be thanked by advance !!!

Nice to meet you again in this superb forum
which bunkers are you restoring ? do you have plans of them ?
there where three 608 , one 618 and one SK
there where even plans to built the 200 man LS in the "Präfekturgarten (24 04 1944) (Wehrgeologen)

at the "Schloss Sargé) to built a Brunnen (20 08 1943)
OB : and at the meantime a 1700l Waterstorage tank was installed in the baracks for the 30 persons there
at three days interval the water tank had to be refilled
the most interesting bunker is however the one at the Lycee (School) i believe in the Rue Chanzy
I love to see a plan of that
what is the heating system in this bunker anyway ? , we know the lufters (two pieces ) are of the 2,4 type installed at it seem without electromotor

as for this HQ (25 11 1943)
OB : Generaloberst Dollmann
Chef : Gen Major Pemsel
Ia : Oberst iG Helmdach
Ic : Obstlt iG Vorwerck
Id : Major iG Johannes
O1 : Oblt d R Von Fournier
IIa : Oberst Jetter
IIb Major d R Moser von Filseck
O Qu : Oberst iG Wolff
Qu1 : Major i G Förster this man is replaced by Freiherr von Buchholz in 1944

i ll have a "Reiseplan"17 05 1944 and 18 05 1944that they left Le Mans at 11hours for St Malo to meet Rommel there for a meeting
Your CO left also 02 06 1944 Le Mans with Major Moser von Filseck too La Ferté Bernard
this kind of documents we have but i don t think that is interesting

Rommel was in Le mans the 22 januari 1944 from 11h 05
after the dinner at midday they left for Guingamp where he arrived at 18 hours so he was just a few hours at Le Mans that day
09 march 1944 he was also just a few hours in Le Mans (he had dinner at midday at Mont St Michel (restaurant Hotel des Terrasses Poulard where Rommel ate some eggs
he left already Le Mans at 16 hours
any help ?

14 april 1944
rommel arrived late in the morning (He left Labaule at 07 hours in the morning for Angers and also visited some chateaus near Tours for future HQ
he left Lemans to Ka Roche Guyon where he arrived at 22 hours
A lot you can find in the book from Hans Sakkers (Feldmarschall Rommel)

Hello Dirk,

we know eachother, we have already corresponded by mail on my blog ans mostly on AW : my name on this forum is PIPS and I am the one who has restored the 608 of the "collège Berthelot" on the rue Chanzy.
Concerning the elements you mentionned, it's a part of the history I already know, but I thank you because you took the time to answer very kindly !
What I need now to complete are photos (or the movie) of theese events and visits.
If you want to visit our 608 (now it's completely restored) you are welcomed in Le Mans, whenever you want; just tell me before.
Thank you again for answering !!!
PS : Write me back by PM so I can give you photos of the heating system (steel italian radiators - brand STABULO) and a plan ofour 608.

I should add that Rommel visited Le Mans 6 times and not 3 times as I said before. The dates were :

22 january
25 january (?)
11 february
20 february
9 march
14 april
16 june

It's very important to me to get photos or movie from those visits. So please, can anyone help me ???

Thanks to anybody who could have pictures.

Hello

Rommel was in Kuntzens area of responsability several times, but I have not yet seen any Photos.

I can not recognize the house, but maybe some of our French friends can do that :)

PS: By the Way - Damn good pictures
