Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Hello
From E-Bay.de resently, this Photo + backside with text:
"16-1-1944, Generalfeldm. Rommel bei XXX"
The trouble here is the date 16 january 1944 Rommel visited 711 I.D and KVA. G Cabourg, Deauville and Mont Canisy - Deauville Trouville and Honfleur and later that day Barneville.
I cannot find any location that matches the XXX?? (or does it just say "Bei uns"??).
Any one who can help here
Sorry for the blurry picture.
Regards
Kurt

Hello
Thanks all
@Etienne - yes it could be Cabourg - the road into Cabourg has a lot of trees between the road and the houses, could look like this.

In his spare time Rommel was a fan of hunting, most of the time near Melun .

Hello
A couple of "Rommel pictures" - not sure of the dates, but maybe 1940 first one, and 1943 second one, could be DAK?

Forttravel,
Just a small remark if I may: "FT-17" was never used as a designation by the French Army or by Renault. The correct designation was simply "FT". This is now one of these enduring incorrect designations spread all over the Internet just like the German 3,7 cm Pak which never was 3,7 cm Pak 35/36.

Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
According to the Ebay caption this should be Rommel in 1940 at the French coast ?? , it looks to me a French
coast battery with the a optical device . Who has any idea were , could be around St Valery en Caux ???

Maybe some one can ID the second Photo?
