Id. old gun
Re: Id. old gun
Hi
Big Thanks
Whether the 6,5 cm Krupp L/35 M1908 was used in German Army in 1914 only as BAK gun ??? it was also used as a field gun ???
If I remember correctly in 1914 the German Army had probably only 16 guns BAK type (including 6 standarized 7,7 cm Krupp L/27 M1908 BAK), the rest are prototypes and singles experimental guns such as 5 cm Rheinmetall L/30 M1906, 7,5 cm L/35 and 7,1 cm L/30 both Krupp or 6,5 cm Rheinmetall L/35...
6,5 cm Krupp L/35 M1908 BAK wa only prototype ?
Another picture of the same gun (much better resolution) found in the resources of Flickr website

Hello, Emanuel.Manuferey wrote:Not quite. It 's a 6,5 cm L/35 BAK of 1908.ain92 wrote:mit 7.7 cm L/27 BAK (Ballon-Abwehr-Kanone) (Krupp) of 1908.
Here is an excert (ebay) from a 1912 German book showing the "dismounted" gun on the top right. The caption reads: "6,5 cm Kanone in Räderlafette von Krupp mit Kraftwgagen zur Beförderung" [= 6,5 cm gun in wheeled carriage from Krupp with truck for transportation]
In 1911, a system was devised (and patented) to allow the wheels of this 6.5 cm BAK gun to rotate once the gun was on the ground:

Thank you for the images, but what is the truck model? And why are you sure that the gun on the second photo is 65 mm L/35, not 75 mm L/28? Neither the caliber or length of the barrel are written on the picture.
With best regards, Ilya.
Re: Id. old gun
Ain92,
I have no idea about the vehicle ID. So why not the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) Plattformwagen („Dernburg-Wagen“) mentioned earlier?
The barrel of 7,5 cm L/28.4 BAK looks much different to me: thinner and without step.

7,5 cm — may be, but I still can't agree with you that it's definitely 6,5 cm.Manuferey wrote:Ain92,

An old heavy gun used by the Blue Division
Hello again.
So, let's try different artillery piece. What can you say about these gun (probably pre-WW1, approx. 6″ caliber) that looks almost ancient (photo from eBay by martini012)?
