RAL color bunker parts

#1

Post by RuPo » 13 Feb 2009, 13:45

Gentlemen.

A time ago there was a discussion about RAL colors for German bunker items. I thought it was on the old forum. Now I can’t find it with the search function … and I’m not a very good searcher ;-(

Mine question, what is the (today) RAL Code for a Bunker Telephone Heer and what is the code for a VW Filter (Yellow one).

Thanks in advance,

Ruud

thanks!

some more info in http://www.fortificatieforum.nl/viewtop ... 9551#p9549
it refers to an old document of mark stannius, mark thanks!
follow this conversion site, RAL 1003; http://www.abet.ch/Site/tools/ral_ncs/ral_ncs.htm

for bunker-yellow the document say; S1070-I 10R ..... proberly the paint-store could translate this in a RAL code.
for bunker parts (green) RAL 6006.

Dear Friends,

I re-open this subject about RAL Colours used inside bunkers.

Our historical society is working on a rusty roof of a 622. We would like to paint the roof with the good RAL color. Some remains of original painting look like a kind of yellow or beige.

Is anybody have an idea of the standard colour used ? Information in different forums are not clear for me !

Thanks in advance,

Dear Friends,

I just find an older message about color of bunker parts (http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=184967). It seems that RAL 1013 is the good colors for the "I-Trager" in roof inside our bunker.

Best regards from Le Havre,

Bonjour Sébastien and others

An old professional painter had indicated to me that painting was delivered to them out of powder. According to the thinner that they had (quantity, quality and type) the final colour could have - large differences.

I've heard the same from people involved in restoration WWII Germanvehicles.
Official color charts doesn't mention about WWII German colors probably because of political correctness...
Please try other companies which can provide "mixing service" - sometime some shops/companies can mix paints at the place
Mayby it would be helpfull to show some color samples.

Agree: modern paints don't consist of harmfull chemicals but it should be no problem to make the same shade of colour (not the same paint).

Hi guys, Thanks to rene vossenbelt
We have a sample of the "white" ceiling in our 608 analized in a laboratory, and indeed they used lead paint (the same sort as Rembrand)). It was forbidden since the '30s because alot of people died after making this type of paint.
Its very difficult to say what color excactly it was, because it probably changed during 70 years, the lead primer can also influence the color of the top layer..

Hei

No ideas on the color of the beds? Was it the same color as the roof?
Appreciate any suggestions and comments
