St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
Just a quick one...
Is the typology of the machinery bunker at the St. Jacques Naval HQ a R619 or a V192?
Thanks
Dan.

Re: St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
Thanks Jos
I would imagine Colin Partridge's drawing is spot on for St. Jacques.
But it's a fair bit different from the Rudi Rolf's 619 drawing though.
R619sk?

Hi,
The plan depicted by Rolf is the prototype and as far as we can tell never build.
The 619s found are similar to the one at St.Jacques.

Re: St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
Hello Dan
Do you know if the drawing of the 619 from Colin Partridge is correct ,
because you walk from the entrance right in to the machineroom ??
Regards Jos

Re: St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
Personally I cannot say if his drawing is accurate as I've not been inside this bunker yet.
But if Colin did do that drawing I would be very suprised if it's incorrect.
But I will try to pop by saturday to see if I can confirm it.

Re: St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
I spoke to Phil from the Guernsey CIOS and he confirmed that you do walk straight into the generator / workshop room.
He said from what he can remember Colin's plan is correct just the entrance is slightly wider (which you can make out from my pic above).
That's the best I can do for now Jos.
Hopefully in the future I'll get the chance to have a look inside the generator and Seeko-Ki bunker myself and confirm it first hand.

Re: St. Jacques machinery bunker type?
Thanks Dan and Phil
In the 619 at Cherbourg the entrance ( +/- 3 meter wide ) is still open to bring in the machine's
later when the machine's were installed the normal 80 cm entrance was poured and also the inside
wall was poured in the bunker where the m.g.gun port was located .
