15 cm S.K.L/40 in Küst. Rad. Lafette (t)

Hello

In the Sudwall there was a M.K.B. Semaphore with 3 x 15 cm S.K.L/40 in Küst.Rad.Lafette (t) .
I know the W.W. 1 conversion of the 15 cm S.K.L/40 but who has heard of this conversion
a naval barrel on a Skoda lafette .

Photo = Brutus from Sudwall forum

Hello Jos ,

Thank you for surpricing news !! Have seen the 15 cm K 15/16 (t) for many years ,but
overlooked the hybrid . You are rignt the orginal Skoda 15 cm Autokanone M15 + M15/16
have a Flachkeil . The new 15 cm S.K. L/40 gun barrel have a Rundkeil . Question Jos ,
when you replace the 152 mm Skoda gun barrel with a 149,1 mm German naval gun barrel
S.K.L/ 40 why do not you fire 149,1 mm naval shells ????
Tries a provional history ( may contain translation /interpretion errors )

- Pr 1918 the Skoda have 44 x 15 cm Autokanone gun barrels + 43 gun carriages .
- 30 x guns were completed under Italian control ( Cappellano page 155 - 157 )
- The remaing gun parts were sent to Austria + Czechoslovakia + Germany ( Cappellano )
- 2 x guns ended up in Austria ( Urrisk page 99 - 101 + Grestenberger page 128 )
- 11 x guns ( to Germany ? ) 11 x guns of hybrid with Rundkeil mention in Mr .Chazettes new
book Südwall page 30

ludvig

Hello Jos,

thank you for this interesting information. When I visited this gun on the camping site I noticed for sure its german origin by the Krupp sign, but completely overlooked its foreign Lafette.

Do you have a picture of the original Skoda gun in this Lafette?

Greetings

Daniel

Hello Daniel

Here some picture's in Czech service , middle of the page
http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/sh ... 192&page=2
These are photo's form the gun in Italian service
http://www.italie1935-45.com/RE/photosc ... 52-37.html

Regards Jos

P.S. Ludvig , strange is that a German map indicated that the guns at M.K.B. Semaphore
could fire 21.5 k.m. , the original 15 cm S.K.L/40 could only fire 14.8 k.m. ( rebored ???? )
The 15 cm K 15/16 (t) had a max. range of 21.8 k.m.

There was 3 batteries of 149/37, 10 guns total in Pola in WW2. I think they are this guns 15 cm S.K.L/40

The Army 152/37 was Skoda 15 cm Autokanone M. 15/16. not this.

Jos,

For me, it’s a 15 cm M15/16 Skoda/15 cm K15/16(t), based on the features of the barrel in the red squares below. The same area of the barrel on the 15 cm SK L/40 looks different.

Hi All

Another thing I noticed between the two, was the Skoda barrel has a small bell at the muzzel. This is not present on the Krupp one.

As you can see the lighthouse of Portzic , the gun under the netting must be the 15 cm S.K.L/40
must be early in the war , open emplacement and wooden observation post no M 157 and 669sk yet .

If this guns are the Italian 149/37 i have a little more information from Italian side but it is still very confusing:

14x 149/37 guns in Pola in 4 batteries.
Then i have also XLVII gruppo cannoni pesanti da posizione da 149/37 in 14ºRaggruppamento GAF.

So more than 10 guns i had information about. If they are the same model.
In Italian side they are called Skoda 149/37 M 95 e M 97 and also SK-1896 which is between 95 and 97...
I also i have 10km range with 690m/s which seems low.
