I'm used to see Type 92 having spoked wheels like this- yes they are not standard wheels accroding to some Japanese sources, but I often see Type 92 with spoked wheels in wartime photos and in museums in China.tom! wrote:Hi.
The lower lafette could be raised up to the shown height for high firing angles. Without this firing height the breech would have hit the ground.
I just wonder if the wheels are a field modification or a special production series as they are not the standard wheels.

Hi.
These wheels remind me of the ones used on the Type 94 37 mm rapid-fire infantry gun:
It seems that the wheels were interchangable to a certain extend.

Hi all,
Can anyone identify this japanese AA gun?
75mm Type 11, 75mm Type 88 (I don`t think, because the wheels are different) or 10cm Type 14 ??

Re: Id. japanese heavy artillery
It is Type 11 75mm AA gun. The platform of Type 88 is smaller than it. The barrel of Type 14 is longer and bigger than it.Sturm78 wrote:Can anyone identify this japanese AA gun?

Note that there were also Type 88 with spoked wheels. So, it cannot be identified from wheels.

Re: Id. japanese heavy artillery
This is the standard Medium gun of the prewar Japanese coast artillery. It is a 150 mm type 45(1914). It was a French Canet design and was modified in 1934 to increase its elevation by raising the trunion height. Source is "Survey of Japanese coast Artillery" 1 sep 1945.
Re: Id. japanese heavy artillery
Roland1369,
I thought that Type 45 corresponded to 1912.

Hi.
The barrel shape fits. AFAIK the only other longer barreled heavy weapons at Koto, Type 96 15 cm Guns, were mounted in casemates not turrets.
Here´s a pic with the original mount:
