Re: Id. naval guns
Hi all,
Can somebody identify the exact model of the gun of this ship ??
See also here : http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=270, where the ship was identified as German Hai tender (ex-Flottenbegleiter F3)

Re: Id. naval guns
vladalex´s link doesn´t seem to work, hopefully this does http://www.jaegerplatoon.net/COASTAL_ARTILLERY2.htm
Quoting:
"130/50 N (130 mm / 50 naval gun B13 model 1936)...The two guns that went to Navy were used as main guns of auxiliary gun boats (former large fishing boats) Aunus and Viena in 1942 – 1945..."
And indeed, the Finnish caption reads "Taisteluharjoitus aputykkivene Aunuksella. Itämeri 1943.01.14" i.e. "Gunnery excercise on board auxiliary gun boat Aunus. Baltic Sea 14.01.1943".
I may be repeating myself, but
-it is always a good idea to copy-paste the original Finnish caption from sa-kuvat.fi
-there´s absolutely no need to fill this or any other thread with endless thanks messages, there´s no added value

Re: Id. naval guns
Hello Strum78 ,
J think that the naval turrets are from an French Suffren - class with
203 mm / 50 M 1924
The probable taken at Toulon after scuttling of Colbert , Foch and Dupleix
