Hello All

Some picture's of this special gun , as you can see the wheels are a part of the gunshield .
The original name was Canon de 105 mm Court Mle 1935 B , the first has pneumatic wheels
and on the last photo you can see extra wheels for motorised transport .

Photo's = Ebay

Thanks for the 1st picture, Jos. I did not know that there was a version with pneumatic tires. Since the steel wheels provided additional shielding in the original version, what was gained in mobility with the pneumatic tires was lost in protection. :?

The two Germans look very surprised also. One keeps staring at the cartridge and the other seems to make visual calculations between the large bore and small shell (4,7 cm AT?).

Which specific German artillery units were equipped with these after June 1940? What about the Schneider Canon de 105 court mle. 1934?

So that would mean a total of sixteen of these weapons between them, correct?

Jos,

According to the Gliederung drawn up by Gen. Hoecker in 1950 for the Americans (FMS # B-014 – 17th LFD), the I. et III./AR 17 were armed with the “10 cm Französich” guns. Note the “gun” symbol, not the “howitzer” symbol. So it would tend to indicate a 10,5 cm K331(f).
Do you have any German document that could confirm or contradict this report? We know that the reports recorded by the US Historical section were often done without original documents so could be inaccurate.

Image

Separately, the FMS # B-008 (346 ID) report, written by several German sources including Gen. Hoecker after the war, shows 20 (12+8) x 10.5 cm French howitzers for I. and I./AR 346. Could these have been leFH325(f) ?
