Bunker Id.

Post by Sturm78 » 08 Apr 2010, 12:47

Hi all,

I found this image on Ebay. According to photocation this photo was taken in Lödingen, Norway.
Perhaps the photo is showing the construction of the battery MKB 4/516 "Dietl" with 3 x 40.6cm SKC/34 guns.

The image is very small, but.....Have anyone any ideas?

Hello Sturm78

I know that the 30.5 cm guns for Lodingen were first located near Oslo and that the Germans transported the gun to
Lodingen so it could be Lodingen . Maybe someone can recognise the background of the photo´s as Lodingen or Dietl .

There isn't a bunker under there, but it looks like "just" a Stahlgerüst.
Just a faundation for the gun.
Could they have done that, while building the bunker elsewhere?

It's a 30,5 cm HM16(n) Bofors at MKB Lødingen (3./516).

French GFM/A, a special version with the bigger depression of any embrassures (one or more). The most common armoured cupola at the history.

French CORF type casemate with an added armoured searchlight (at right) and the fake embrassures at the ceiling. Maybe part of the fortress, because thickness of the ceiling is high.
