Bunkers at F.H.Q.

#1

Post by jopaerya » 04 May 2010, 21:06

Hello

After comparing some bunkers from the F.H.Q. , these 2 bunkers must be from the same designer or designline .
Special on these bunker are the three entrances two on both sides and one at the front of the bunker .

The first drawing is the so called Göring bunker at F.H.Q. Wolfsschanze , the second drawing the Führerbunker
from F.H.Q. Wolfsschlucht 2 .

Drawings = Timo from Lostplaces Forum and Wolfsschlucht 2 from Rhone/Sunkel

Hello Jos,

I like Your way of thinking :)
Who used the second one bunker in Wolfsschlucht: Göring?
Does it exist till now-it would be interesting to compare it with FHQ Wolfsschanze.
Wolfsschlucht bunker looks like big one+suffix with light walls and large windows to improve working conditions-common practice in FHQ.

Hi @ndrew

Most bunkers at Wolfsschlucht 2 are still there, but not all bunkers are accessible .

Yes it would be nice to compare the bunkers from Wolfsschlucht 2 with Wolfsschanze .
from what I found in the book Wolfsschlucht 2 all bunkers have the 3 entrances and most
have a toilet inside of the wall , also the outerform ( "round" upper corners ) is the same .
Some of the larger bunkers at Wolfsschlucht are smaller bunkers that are fitted together .

I don't know if the second bunker at Wolfsschlucht 2 was for Göring , but do you know for
sure if the so called "Göringbunker" at Wolfsschanze was for Göring himself ?

Hi Jos,

So-called Goring bunker is described on map of whole FHQ based on BAMA sources-assume that it was made correctly.
It was placed just n. Hitlers bunker.

One is worth of mentioning that many bunkers were built in more than 1 phases-were reinforced heavily with additional cap of concrete. That was in FHQ Mauerwald.
When You see closer at drawing of Goring bunker You will see Basaltschotter-which could lead to the conclusion that it was made in 2 phases ...hmm for me it was made in 1 phase-don't you think so? First phase looks very thiny-no entrance defence Schartenstanden.

Hello @ndrew

The bunker at Wehrmacht H.Q. Mauerwald that were reinforced looks a lot like a Regelbau ( Bunker K
{ LVZ-West } and a sort of 622 ) with extra conctrete .

Do you have any idea how many large bunkers there were build at F.H.Q. Wolfsschanze ( Hiltlerbunker and
Göringbunker) and in F.H.Q. Wolfsschlucht 2 there are also a few large bunkers build near chateau's in the
surrounding area of the central perimeter , do you know if there are more bunkers outside Wolfsschanze 2 ?

Hi Jos,

The are few command post in East Prussia, one of them, main one is FHQ Wolfsschanze.
Muerwald bunkers: agree that it looks like K-Stand with reinforcing concret cap, very thick cap and R622.
But must check when was designed R622 according to date of built of HQ Mauerwald.

Please have a look at attached visualisation layout plan of a core of FHQ Wolfsschanze.
Yellow bunkers are the biggest, rest are smaller concrete bunkers and many reinforced barracks (concrete, long buildings with many windows.) Large bunkers in Wolfsschanze are belonging to: Hitler, Göring, and for guests/schron dla gości/, and so-called general purpose air-raid shelter/schron przeciwlotniczy ogólnego użytku/.

Hello

I think I have to change the type of the bunker at Mauerwald looks more a 102V then a 622 .
This type 102V was also build at F.H.Q. Wasserburg ( Pleskau ) according to the book Die F.H.Q.

Very nice find Jos.
It looks like private photo rather then official propaganda.

Below 2 photos showing so-called Goring bunker in Wolfschanze. They show how it looked in 60'/70'.
Over the corner Ringstand and emplacements for light Flak.

Goering's bunker at the Wolfschanze (artificial Nr. 16) still looks like this (2014) ... the trees are somewhat taller. You can still climb up to the top and see the Ringstand and the light Flak emplacements. The bunker in Jos' photo (great photo!) was the Gaestebunker (artificial Nr. 6). The staff officers are walking toward the so-called Lagerbaracke, where Stauffenberg's bomb exploded on 20 July 1944.
