Thank you for your links, assfort and Dili, although I'm still a little confused.

Here another image of this gun (I think):

Good evening to all from Sardinia,
anti-ship Vickers 152/50-918 guns with these wraparound shields were certainly in south Sardinia (Quartu Sant'Elena, Cagliari and Pula).
This image is beautiful, this could also the Cagliari battery (Sant'Elia Cape). Today the site, inaccessible for many years, has changed as vegetation.
In fact, here the guns were placed along the crest of the limestone Cape .
Batteries were built by the Regia Marina, then (1939-43) served by the Fourth MIlizia Artiglieria Marittima (MILMART)Legion
Is the photo for sale?

ciao :D

hi everybody,
I confirm this is the same gun of the first page: the 2x381/40 of the coastal battery of Monte Moro. I think (but not sure) this photo was shooted during a visit of the Vizeadmiral Meendsen-Bohlken. If someone wants to know something else about this battery (the 251st battery) I created the website: www.progettomontemoro.it

Hi,
zooming-in the photo, I've found the written "Spezia" on the gun.
For this reason, this battery could be one of the coastal defeces located around the harbour of La Spezia.
Perhaps one of these batteries
De Lutti: 4 x 152/50
Chinca: 4 x 152/45
Albini: 4 x 152/45
Garibaldi: 6 x 152/45
Racchia: 4 x 152/40
Ronca: 4 x 152/50

For a better research, there are other photos of this coastal battery viewable in some on-line archive.
regards
DH
