Re: Italian coast gun
Any idea about this heavily damaged coastal gun in Gaeta on May 21st, 1944?

Re: Italian coast gun
It seems to be a Cannone da 120/40. Variant of British 4.7 QF

I have in my data 2x152/45 and 3x120/40 in Gaeta.

Re: Italian coast gun
For me the clue was the rear of the gun. In your pic a small part of it is shown at the right.
Re: Italian coast gun
Three coastal guns and two large barrels visible on this WW2 picture.
The caption reads: “Knocked out Italian railroad guns. “27 Oct 44. 5/MM-44-6282. Fifth Army, Viareggio, Italy. 381mm and smaller Italian RR and coastal guns at an Italian depot. All guns have been destroyed by bombs or demolition. Photo by Hartmen. 3131 Signal Service Co.” Viareggio, Italy. 27 October 1944”.
Any idea of what these guns are?
And here is a view of the breach of the gun with the barrel visible in the foreground on the top picture (381 mm):
Looking into the open breech of a large, World War I-era coastal artillery gun. “28 Oct 44. 5/MM-44-6290. Fifth Army, Viareggio Area, Italy. The open breech of a 381 mm coastal gun made in 1914 by Vickers-Terny [Terni], found in what is believed to have been an Italian proving ground. Photo by Granning. 3131 Signal Service Co.” Viareggio Area, Italy. 28 October 1944
