Re: 12.2cm sFH 396(r)
hello
in october 1943 the first units with "396" were founded
designation: "s.Art.Abt. / 12,2cm s.F.H.396 (r) "
in december 1943 the designation changed into
"le.Art.Abt. / 12,2cm le.F.H.396 (r) "
at june 1944 the finally designation through Org.Abt.
"le.Art.Abt. / 12,2cm s.F.H.396 (r) "
why this confusion??

Re: 12.2cm sFH 396(r)
I have a question: Did all 122mm M-1938 used by Russia in WW2 have riveted legs, or some of them had welded legs?

This is quite a mass-produced 152-mm howitzer "D-1" M1943. It visually differs not only in muzzle brake and thicker barrel, but also larger wheels.
By the way, does anybody know a "Beute number" for this artillery piece?
With best regards, Ilya.
