Re: lg. 21 cm Mörser
I was wondering could the first photo of the sketched Morser have anything to do with this painting? It was a mate of mine who picked up on it. I don't know who the painting/pic belongs to, hope it's okay to post it. I have a soldbuch to a crew member of a 21cm Morser that was in the Demjansk pocket. Kind regards, Stewy

Hello Stewy, none of your photos/documents have to do with lg. 21 cm Mörser.
the sketches/photos shows s.F.H. 18 and Fla-Btl. is not artillery in german definition of "troops"
Maybe an presenter or administrator change it in the right threads.

Apart from the wheels, were there any other changes made to these weapons prior to their use in WWII?

Hi Paul,
Yes, there was another trail spade, they went without the gun shield and they used gun barrels with a simplified construction of the barrel (source of this infromation: Waffen-Arsenal Band 162 "Deutsche 21cm-Mörser 1911 - 1945" by Wolfgang Fleischer.
Regards
Bert
