Hello all.
What can you say about this one?
Image
It's exhibited in the Castle of Udine. IMHO, that thing under the gun tube seems to be too long for the cradle, probably it's the barrel trailer.
Can it be the 15 cm Autokanone M.15/16 aka Cannone da 152/37 and 15,2 cm K 410(i)?

With best regards, Ilya.

I don't think so, wheel is much weaker.

152/37 presentation manual is here:http://www.scribd.com/doc/98533082/Cenn ... -Da-152-37

If you had clicked the image, you'ld get direct there. ;-) I almost always give link to the sources of used images, so they are underlinked.
The steel wheels on the photographs were probably installed by Italians, original wheels were wooden:

Although this wheel is installed on the carriage itself, I'm sure that Austro-Hungarians used wooden wheels on the barrel trailer too.

This could be a "trailer" just to transport the tube. Even then it seems too fragile.

Centro Documentazione Luserna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luserna) have in Flickr an extensive collection of WW1 images that include guns/mortars that were still in operation in WW2.

Here is the picture to make it easier:

It looks to me like a pre-WW1 Krupp anti-torpedoboat design, maybe 5 or 6 cm.

The mounting does not allow any high degree angle necessary for AA purposes.

75/27 AV is also based on Krupp. http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:75-27_A.V..JPG

But you are right it seems a smaller gun and has not a similar recoil system.

This is a fairly old gun. The breech mechanism is a derivative of C73 Krupp model.

Is this a 10 cm leFH315(i) - formerly Obice da 100/17 mod.14?

"Photograph. “MM-5-44-5822”; “Signal Corps photo. Italy. German make-shift! Abandoned by the Germans at Fondi, this weapon being examined by an American soldier was found to be a hasty improvisation. It consists of an Italian 105 MM field Howitzer mounted on a crude turn table, fastened to top of a railroad flat car.” Fondi, Italy. 27 May 1944"

Thanks Dili.

Yes, the size is closer to a 75 mm. The 75/27 mod. 06 could match except for the shield. :?
