#1

Post by dirk Peeters » 30 Dec 2013, 21:02

Alain Chazette has found on the superforum another new type
The LS Type 4 50 mann
2013-12-29_142323.jpg
2013-12-29_142323.jpg (117.77 KiB) Viewed 790 times
there are several constructed in le Havre
so here we have a unique modell in Le Havre
The M 168 is also a LS for 50 mann
1A5 doc St lijst Festung Le Havre (2).jpg
see the second line in the document above (M 168 50 M 1300 CBM)
M 168 LS 50 man 01 plan.jpg
i ll think its the same
so it could be that a Type 4 is also a M 168
Your opinions please
Dirk

we see they are all the same bunker , but an LS 50 mann type ostende is much smaller
for me i ll think they are all M 168 , but i could be wrong
anyone can verify with measurements or placing plans of the two types on the aerial pictures? i don t know how to do it

an LS type Ostende measures
6 meter on 23 meter 20 so a small long bunker
an M 168 measures
21 meter on 12 meter
so much taller and i ll think its that we see here an M 168

We had one survivor of these specimen
It was destroyed a few years ago but we have visited this one
It was on Quai de la Seine
a google picture
quai de la seine google.jpg
an exterior picture of myself
quai de la seine.jpg
and this one is a genuine M 168
we see it is on dry docks
when we search in 1945 we find this
nr 450 1A4.jpg
nr 450 1A4.jpg (50.29 KiB) Viewed 690 times
we see the same drydock
and the german nr is 450 so they used for this one the name 50 Mann Bunker
why they use sometimes the designation M 168 or 50 Mann bunker i don t know but this is all i ve found sofar

Hi,

LS is certainly the abbreviation für Luftschutz. There is also an early Luftwaffen-Regelbau "LS-Unterstand für 50 Mann" , which you can find on several Fliegerhorste, for example Uetersen or Kiel-Holtenau and Grove http://www.gyges.dk/fliegerhorst_grove.htm
