Hello All
Found this map from 1942 with the known railway battery's 664 and 674
but also with the Gneisenau near the golf at St Barbe , it's just coincidence
or was it the planned 15 cm naval railway battery ??
Plan = Dirk Peeters

Re: Bayonne ( Gneisenau )
Jos,
From what I could find so far, MKB Gneisenau was near Houlgate (Normandy) in the summer 1942, then moved near Cherbourg (anse du Brick) and left for southern France in November 1942 after the Invasion of France’s « Free » Zone by the Germans to finally end up at Sète in the summer of 1943. So, a position in southwestern France in late 1942 was definitely possible.
