Color of German arty case cardboard closing cups?

Hi

The color of the cardboard closing cup was that natural colored cardboard or was in any other color and the wax used to seal it, was that clear wax or was it colored?

I think natural cardboard was most often used, although i have seen 15 cm s.F.H. 18 cups that seemed to have been treated with some sort of brown solution.

Same goes for the wax: natural and darkbrown.
