Re: Panther Bodenturm

Schadpanzer/diabled tank (see order P.Kp."Berlin") isen't the same as "Pz.Kw.Turm Panther auf Stahlbunker"

Hello
No you are right. The document talks about dug in panzers (disabled Pz. IV and V types) meaning both hull and turrets are dug in the streets / pavements.
Not proper Panther Turrets on bunker, that is correct - I brougth that ducument here because I believe that a lot of the pictures of Panther Turrets are in fact of "dug in panthers" - and not bunkers - specially concerning Photos from Berlin, that is!
Could you agree to that
I dont see a problem here??

Re: Panther Bodenturm
A question coming to my mind recently is, if Schadpanzer used for fortifications were standarised in any way, or just improvised and different from location to location.

Eax-E,
Are you certain about that PT with the US Soldier standing in the entrance being at the Futa Pass? I can't remember exactly but I think I said somewhere previously that it was in this sector but not at the Futa Pass.
In other news I think I have located the so-called Senigallia Pantherturm to within a few hundred metres or so. It is actually no where near Senigallia but in the Ancona area. Still need to get my bearings to be sure.
Tom.

Hello Tommygunn,
I'm not 100% sure but I found it in a wartime book of the US army with this caption.

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Next to Panzernest in Piedimonte (seen in Panzernest post) there is located well known Pantherturm - another picture.

Re: Panther Bodenturm
New one from Berlin. Worth of note are hatches in front of the turret.

Re: Panther Bodenturm
2 more photos from Panzerwrecks series with turrets from Berlin.
Who can write more about those hatches outside turret?
Is it Panther hull dug in and those hatches are covers of the engine and coolers?
Or mayby it's new bunker-not OT Stahlunterstand???
Please note also rails which are dug in verticaly.

Forttravel,
What is interesting on the sketch, is the different placing of beds - 2 on opposite sides of room. E.g. in Pyrenees it was placed like 3, one above each other, on one side of the room.
