Hi!

At the map "Bodenorganisation Nachtjagd" is a "Schweres Leuchtfeuer Nora" in the area.

Does it has s.th. to do with the radio-station?

Best wishes
Rolf

I dont think so
Forschungstelle langeveld was a super secret listening and decoding station, dont think they would place anything that attracks airraids nearby! It was first planned in france, but the conditions on the Dutch coast were better.
The radio connection between England and the usa could be hacked and unscrambled from there, wich was very importand in the first months of the war.
Somewhere in 40 or 41 there were some bombs dropped, probably by a english fighter returning from a mission.
Everything was in full alert because of the special equipment that was hit.
It was in direct connection with Zossen, and some other HQ's in germany.

Gr, Tim.

Hi,
seeing that Wolf Trierenberg (Kdr. 167 ID) is on the pictures it would place the location I presume around Schagen,
so wouldn't Callantsoog be a more logical location?

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peet,
the typical shape of the 2 masts convice me it's NORA.
we have other pictures with these masts on it.

Do you have additional info about a radiostation near Callantsoog?
Schneeglocke was in a meadow near Schagen, and the leuchtfeuer of CATRIN was located on the churchtower?

Hi Tim,

No, only the reference of the 167 ID which I thought was in Schagen, but saw now its KVA Amsterdam, so NoRa should fit then if
you say the masts are also similar.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Tim!

It was called Y-Stellung "Schneeglöckchen" - lat. Galanthus - dutch sneeuwklokje - engl. snowdrop
