Westwall bunker numbers

Hi all,

In German sources I found references to specific bunkers being captured by the Americans during the attack on the Westwall in September 1944. Bunkers 175 and 179, 181 are mentioned several times. They are most probably located in the area N of Sellerich (Schneifel). Any idea if there are maps, literature showing the locations of the bunkers? Other Anschlußbunker are 40-101b, 41-101b, 307-20, 193-10. Do these numbers ring any bell?

There are official 1:25.000 maps (Wehrmachtskarte) showing (almost) all bunkers in that region. I think map number 5704 (Prüm) should cover that area quite well.

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for sharing this extract. Now I finally know where WH40 and 41 were located! It fits with the location I had in mind.
Do you have any info on the other bunkers?

A question about the numbers, is the "WH" prefix for every sector of the Westwall?

Sometimes i see "Bauwerk" (BW), or Bau/Bunker (B) and mostly Wehrmacht Heer (??) WH... which one is correct and is this for all sectors?
