Heeresversuchsstelle north of Blåvand

#1

Post by Lars Bertelsen » 21 May 2015, 00:32

Hello

In the northernmost bunker in the Heeresversuchstelle at Blåvand a steel construction is stuck between the floor and the collapsed ceiling. I am not sure whether the steel construction belongs to the former Heeresversuchsstelle. But it must have been situated in the bunker (Regelbau 680 variant) when it collapsed.

It may look like some kind of Sockellafette? Maybe be for a 2 cm Flak?? Or is it just a crane or something?
Has anybody seen anything similar?

greetings
lars

Can it be from the cold war period?

Here in holland we have what seem to look the same thing mounted on top of a 616 that was reused in the cold war.

It's been said there was an air alarm horn on top

First picture, om the roof.

Thanks Tim. I think you’ve got it ;-)
I have always thought that it looked not strong enough for a weapon mount, but I could not figure out what else it could be.

Hello

Here is some information about the Versuchsstelle at Blåvand. The numbering is made by me.

1. Regelbau 680 prototype (?)
2. Regelbau 704 prototype? / Sockellafette I (early variant)?
3. Emplacement for a Sockellafette I (late variant)
4. Regelbau 694 / Drehbettung
5. Emplacement for a Drehbettung, 15,5 cm K 418 (f)
6. Pak bunker (?)
7. Pak bunker (?)
8. Flanking bunker for a field gun (?)
9. Casemate (120 degrees) for a 8,8 cm Pak 43 (?)
10. Ringstand for a 10,5 cm K 331 (f) in Spreizlafette (?)
11. Ringstand for a 15,2 cm K 443/1 (r) (?)
12. Pak bunker (?)
13. Casemate (60 degrees) for a Sockellafette III (?)
14. Ringstand for a 10,5 cm K 331 (f) in Kastenlafette (?)
15. Ringstand for a 15,5 cm sFH 414 (f) in Sockellafette IV (?)

The Information about the four Ringstände (10,11,14,15) comes from Jens Andersen. They were buld late 1943 and were probably the first bunkers build in this site.

Hi Lars

Really nice with an updated Map. I have found number 14 in the field but not sure if it's only a geschüztbettung or a bigger Ringstand like the other 2.
@ Jens: Do you have a description whether the two new ones on the map are Ringstände as well or just simple Bettungen?

Here a drawing of the lower part of construction (5).
Some outer walls have cracked and shifted, meaning some lengths are a little bit off.

Does anyone know, whether this was an open emplacement or intended for a steel cupola (Gogarten)?

Thanks for the drawing. It seems that a much bigger part of this bunker is visible today than just a few years ago.
The emplacement was open, and it does not seem that any kind of a cupola was planned. But on the other hand it is only a test bunker, so hard to proof.

The sand that recedes from the beach side gathers in the rear, unfortunately.
For example, Schartenstand (9) is now filled with sand and inaccessible.

The metal stand from the start of this thread seems to be gone, by the way.

Yes, and so are the bunkers nr. 11 and 13, and nr. 8 is totally covered up (in 2019).
The metal stand from the start of this thread seems to be gone, by the way.
A pity. But at least it was identified before it was removed.

Is it the one shown in the "Olsen-Banden i Jylland"?

Hello Grzesio

The Coastal Battery in "Olsen Banden i Jylland" is mostly Vigsø for outdoors scenes and studio for indors scenes (to look like Hanstholm with the large 38 cm. projectile chasing them around).
