Tobruk Granatwerfer 8 cm (probably Ic 125)
Re: Tobruk Granatwerfer 8 cm (probably Ic 125)
I did not understand everything translation
I found nothing, i'am amateur
but I have taken only the German listing of NARA possessing mortars 8 cm so that potentially can have a Ic 125
je n'ai pas tout compris la traduction
mais je n'ai pris que les listing allemands des NARA qui possèdent des mortiers de 8 cm donc qui peuvent potentiellement avoir un Ic 125
A+

Hi Alain
I think we need some more prove to put them on the list of the Ic 125 , because the 8 cm mortars
could also be use in other type of emplacements . Also most bunkers has survived in this area .
BTW we are all amateurs here , join the club .
Regards Jos

do not forget field-emplacements where the mortars where placed in... you don't need concrete for every weapontype...
On the other hand, those strongpoints in KVA B have a lot of ringständen, i don't know if it is possible, but could a 8cm granatwerfer be placed in a normal VF 8? in case they had no IC 125 or other emplacements there?

The one in Breskens with 2 meter opening was used for a 5 cm KwK according to Ben Muller ,
there is a picture in his book Breskens, so a other one with a other weapon .

Hi Dirk, dirk Peeters wrote:in monika... No mortars listed in my archive ...
maybe this is why there is that hole in the floor there so they could instal if they wanted a soccle or fill the hole in when they don t need that soccle
sounds logic to me no?
it looks they never used this emplacements .. but this would mean they actually built this type for the two mortar types
There are drawings in the b.r.v. (i thought) that shows a wooden pole could be placed in the square hole in the ground..
Maybe the ones in Monica were used with MG for "fliegerbeschuß", like the drohnenneste.

Thanks Tim
when i m at home i will post some drawnings , even there are drawnings of concrete poles for this
(at least one has been found with it s mortar still on it by us in the 15 armee KVA D
It costs practically nothing to construct

Re: Tobruk Granatwerfer 8 cm (probably Ic 125)
As you may know, i'm working on a huge KMZ-file (open in Google Earth) about all existing bunkertypes in every bunkerline in Europe. As for now i'm maining working on the A'wall and also the ringständen and Bauformen are present.
I would like thank Dirk Peeters for his in depth study on the Ringstand-typologie, because of you're research i was able to place a lot of new bunkertypes in this kmz.
In additions only a small part of this kmz-file, mapped under the name "Ringständen und Bauformen". Many errors can been found inside, as i'm shure, because tobruk-typology is not as simple as all the other typology's...
I think it looks pretty good so far, but please note, this kmz-project is FAR from complete. I work daily on it, hope to get some serious listings withing some months...
As for the 5cm KwK-stand, i found somewhere on this forum it got the 1740 numbering? i called it Rs (shortcut of Ringstand) 1740 on this kmz-file, i hope this can be assumed pretty correct instead of VF 600v you find on several pages... If 1740 is to hot to use, i can change it plain to KwK-stand, as you see on many German documents for this type of Geschützringstand.
Anyway, since BelFra is working on the ringständen, it intrigues me a LOT!
Work in Progress: In the side navigation bar, you can sellect/desellect them all, or open only one specific bunkertype (map)
Credits for the DK/NW part, the locations there come from Atlantikwall relikte, as i do not visited those countries (yet)

That 8cm Gr.W. Ringstand behind Fort Rammekens (Stützpunkt Rommel) near Vlissingen, is this an IC 125 variant or is this more like one of the 200-series?

Here you find more of the strange Bauform 69 tobruks http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... t=poormans
