Thank you very much Forttravel,
In the picture we talk about is only one "big" problem; it require another "help" ,
because no one can tell what "type" of gun it is or what's the difference between
this gun and what's left of the cannon posed before being taken to the molten posted
by Jos .
Thank you again for special attention to my , not so big problems .
Best Regards,
Vladalex

Thank you again, Forttravel,
I look with increased attention at the post you told about
and I found some " folk's" , shortly funny things :
"practice propaganda picture with lid on muzzle" and " muzzle counterweight to help balance the gun"
After examining the pictures indicated by Jos , I have only one querry : No one do not hear about
strengthening the pipe had, for prolonging the life of the gun barrel, after a much number of shots ?
About propaganda picture , I have only my personal opinion ; and in our days, countries that deals with the study of
the most effective methods of propaganda, learns from german propaganda between wars and from second
world war, for me this is ... something without comment.
But, back to business, two short sketches, one about our minor problem, and another about our 8,8 cm gun.

Best regards,
Vladalex

Ok Vladalex, it seems that device on barrel muzzle it is really not a cover/lid as I suppose but additional reinforcement as you claimed.

Of course, Forttravel.
For 8,8 cm caliber, the reinforcement is "sustained" by 4 screws and for 10,5 cm caliber (UTOF C/16) by 8 screws.
For protection against bad weather, this reinforcements can be covered with textile caps.
Regards,
Vladalex.

Maybe right answer is different - it is a) = counter weight. Many of L/45 guns were modified to C/30 design.
