8 cm Granatwerfer bomb markings

Hi,

Found a lot of these (partially detonated) concentrated in one area which suggests training exercise.

A few of them have had white bands around them, any ideas what that means as to the bomb type?

Smoke would stencilled Nb on it.

No smoke marked Nb which is why I have asked

Do you mean in that specific area ? Or use of Weissring in general ?

Specific area, it was on a large beach but on a sea target point.

Found about 25 partially detonated 8cms so far, 2 with the white ring on them.

I actually never knew tear gas was around then!

Not selling mate, stabilising them then likely donating to History groups locally.
