Jos,

In my memory, this is the stairway to the room where the connection is to the turm. Unfortunately never made a map. Hope that there is someone who can deliver this.

Here the photo's from A. Durrieu in the book from Alain Chazette ( Les défences du port de Saint-Nazaire )

I am trying to recreate the upper level just under the 6-Schartenturm .

Photo 4 and 5 are from the same room with the two beds and four Lufters as you can see from Ron's photo's
Photo 7 a other room but you look through the left door in room ( 4 and 5 )
Photo 2 and 6 have the heavy doors 882P7
Photo 8 is the closed tobruk

Photo 3 look the stairway to this block with a entrance defence

Photo C is the entrance to the turret ?

Regards Jos

On the photo 18 from Ron you can see the painted walls what could indicate a crew room,
also the rusty roof panels between the steel beams can help us to positioning the rooms .

what puzzles me is photo 8 from A Durrieu , in the room with two beds is a whole in the floor , looks straight down,i can t see it on another picture
in the room with the two beds is relatively small and it has at least three 2,4 HES
see pictures Ron 12 and 19
also on the A Durrieu picture 3 with the stairs we see a Nahkampf panzerplatte but i don t see it in no room at all ....

it looks like Ron took a stroll two times in that room , so the crew room with at least the two doors (painted walls must directly connected (if Ron has put nrs on his picture chonologieque
Maybe Ron can you tell us this ?

for mee thr room with two beds is the ventilation room
Photo Ron 12 - 19
photo AD 4 and 5
there in that room are two doors ( AD 4 ) , took this pivture from the door (which i didn t find a picture)
the other door pictures Ron we can see it leads to a corridor with concrete bricks so that entrance is leading away from the turret
the ventilation room with trap is at the right from the painted crew room

picture 1 AD we see the trap from the two beds room (ventilation) in the ceiling
strange that the walls are not constructed in a straight line
the lowest floor is "misplaced" at least 30 cm to the right with the upper floor room (ventilation) , but we know these walls can be very thick , could be 2 or 3m or even thicker so i guess it isn t a matter of strenght
