Hi,

Schleusenbunker was build in one times. You can see that on picture of external wall and aerial view. No cut. I hope next month more info about mysterious room.

Here you can see the roof was made at a later time at the place of 6 schartenturm .

Hello Patrick

You have made a cross section from the middle of the bunker, the part of the 6-Schartenturm is something larger I think ??

Also the other side of the bunker has only close defence above the bridge passage , I think the open iron bars at ground level
and wooden planks should be used to exent also the bunker with defences . Photo = Tom

Here is the result so far of jos, Archie and myself.
Base is the story of Archie who visited this bunker part by entering via the door opening 4-5m above ground level (M1).

Some text is in Dutch, sorry for that.

One issue is that "people tell" that there is no passage between the part above the pump room and the side under the cupola.

According to Archie from point M1 (his entrance) there is a staircase going up (left) and one going down (right). As seen is the cross cut. He also entered the electrical room from this part of the bunker, which makes it a mystery where this room is.

One option is that there is a middle section with room(s) M3. But this conflicts with the staircase,

Also when there is a staircase going down you should think that there would be access to the ground level rooms BG2 and BG3.

St Nazaire - Schleussebunker 107 - inside rooms
StNazaire_010i.jpg
St Nazaire - Schleussebunker 107 - side view
All rooms fit in the width given for the pump room which is 800cm. Except (!) the upper three crew rooms, B2, B3, B4.

I also did a comparison with the aerial picture from Dirk.

St Nazaire - Schleussebunker 107 with Normandy lock door bunker.
Patrick your measurements on the aerial picture are not correct (sorry) at the right side. The last part is the side wall of the bunker and therefore not part of the overall width.
I made that mistake too but you can see the big groove from the roof going to ground level.
Thanks,

Wim

Some times theobvious is in plain sight.

Looking closely at this photo I noticed that :
A) there is a defence covering the side of the bunker too, point A

B) there seem to be a defence or entrance (?) at point B

C) anybody knows what is inside C ? Amo storage, crew rooms ?

D) how did they get on the roof on the first place. Also how did they transport the amo for the flak to the roof top ?
StNazaire_ww2-2_.jpg
Also, google give a nice inside view.
Does anyone know something about the entrances (?) in the circles ? The smaller one on the right seems to be in the side wall of a steel bridge. A same bridge is on the other side.

There was a crane on the roof, I thought it was for the periscopes, but also can be used for ammo?

You are right Dirk , the last drawing is the flak bunker from U-boot bunker St-Nazaire .

Wim, the steps down goes to a socalled "Untertretraum" a sort hidding room , the personelsrooms
for the flakcrew are behind the 4 flak emplacements under the two way stairs with the St sign .

I mean these two:
StNazaire_Flak_pete.jpg
St Nazaire Flak - PeteF
Jos called it Untertretraum.

I changed the model like so:
StNazaire_Flak-door.jpg
St Nazaire Flak doorsnede
Next question: was there a doorway at point A ?
Thanks,
