Re: Big AA guns
UK had a pair of 8-in (203mm) AA guns at Dover, although there were also dual role. 4.5-in (114mm) were widespread in fixed mountings, mostly in UK but the first Japanese a/c shot down over Singapore were by 4.5. Then mid-war they introduced the fixed mounting 5.25-in (134mm), the emplacement included a generator to power everything. Like 4.5 it was also used on ships, some cruisers and battleships. It was also used for coast defence, ie anti-ship. 5-inch (127mm) was the USN standard AA gun.

Re: Big AA guns
Thank You very much Kurt for good views of gun without housing - this mechanism of double barreled gun seems to me very interesting

Hello,
It's a quality book, as often with Werner Müller.
Unfortunately it does not speaks about Kriegsmarine equipements and guns.
Waiting for vladalex's book in english for the 10,5 cm S.K.C/32 !
