From Ebay some picture's of the Gefechtturm V at the Stiftskaserne in Vienna , AFAIK the
first picture's with the steel turrets for the 12.8 cm Zwillungflak , just like the 10,5 cm M.Fl.B.
Please note also the crane lying in the middle that could be used for bringing thinks up the tower .

I think these pictures may illustrate some kind of an accident - notice, that the barrel on the left hand side got stuck in its rear position and that the recoil regulator is missing from the cradle.

These photo's are from a row with American soldiers after the war , so it could be a accident or sabotage ?

Who has any idea how this system works , is't a part of the lift to the emplacements on top of the bunker ??
Looking at the picture of the of the armor lift near the gun the round were lifted horizontal and not vertical ??

Hello Jos,

I have had this discussion on the fb Festung Europa page to.
There was no answer. The picture shows a vertical position of the ammo, on top you have a horizontal position. It is much easier to load in horizontal position then vertical. From a technical point it is also hard to switch between the two positions. Especially when you take in account that it is live ammo.
Thanks,

Wim

Thanks Guys

It's only a thought but maybe the vertical position could be turned in a horizontal position to the lift ??

Regards Jos
