Few photos for You Lars.
First one shows 7,5cm on exhibition in "Eastern Fort" in Świnoujście.
It returned from renovation with small edition (from renovation crew)-I hope that additional plates of steel will be removed soon.
You can see in the backgroung 5cm KWK on Sockellafette too.

Hello Andrzej
Thanks for photos. Nice to see that the Sockellafette from Podjuchy has been saved. But I agree with you, it would be more correct to let the eight fins on the base plate be visible.

Jos,

I thought that the KwK 39 (L/60) had a muzzle brake unlike the KwK 38 (L/42). :?

Hello

Thanks for photos Jos. BAMA has got a number of other photos of the same Sockellafette III (see attachment). I believe that this is the only one which was ever produced. An interesting fact is that the Sockellafette III used the same type of cradle for the 7,5 cm KwK 42 as the Panther turret.
In the Heeresversuchsstelle at Blaavand a gun bunker was build which might be designed for the Sockellafette III (photo and drawing made by me). At least I see no other possibilities.

Originally the5 cm KwK 39 L/60 did not have a muzzle brake (Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf. J to M). Some of the guns were (re)used for the Behelfssockellafette and got a muzzle brake then.

greetings
lars

Hello
My pleasure. I did not find this bunker neither when I visited Blåvand a few months ago. I made the photo in 2008, but the landscape has changed a bit since then.
The Sockellafette I was designed in mid 1943 to be used with the 7,5 Pak 40, 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 and 7,5 cm KwK 67 L/24. The BAMA file contains photos of all 3 types. I have attached a photo of the missing one fitted with a 7,5 cm KwK 67 (which is a rebored and shortened 5 cm KwK 39).
The Sockellafette I on these photos is the early type, which was fitted with a steel pedestal. Later on, it was redesigned to be fixed on a pedestal of concrete for the Regelbau 704.
In the Versuchsstelle at Blåvand is a bunker, which might be designed for the Sockellafette I on steel pedestal (see photo and drawing). It looks a bit like the Regelbau 704, but the combat room is smaller. The ammunition room was omitted, but that is not unusual in bunkers build for trial purposes.

your picture shows this
its not an acurate drawning but the measures are good
667 19 plan 145.jpg
i thought this one was a prototype for the 667
is this wrong ?

So thought I Dirk when I visited this bunker for the first time, but later I dug out the embrasure, and it is clear that the gun sight was fitted at the left side of the carriage. Therefore it cannot have been a bunker for a 5 cm KwK in the Behelfssockellafette.

Here is a few pictures for you Dirk. I did not remove all the sand, but I found the four bolts for the left side armour, and I could measure the cut-out for the Stirnpanzer plate over the embrasure (50 cm high, 15 cm deep).
