My question is do you know any built R514 in Western Europe? Were there on West Wall or Atlantik Wall?

I've read that 514s were constructed in the Spichern-Stellung (Westwall).

Hello Hubertus,

in the Spichern Stellung you will find R 503. R 514 were build in the Westwall for example between Saarbrücken and Zweibrücken. Please find attached an image of a R 514, WH 84.[attachment=0]WH 84.jpg

Daniel

Thank you very much. I see a fragment blasted combat casemates. Is the armor plates are 10cm thick, or a standard I 78p9? .

Hello Hubertus,

in case of WH 84 it was just a 7p7. 78p9 were very rare along the Westwall.

Once a year, the shelters have the opportunity to "fight" during the staging fights from the end of July 1944

Is it possible to consider that the project Regelbau 514 was considered a good outlook design and abandoned? On the Atlantic Wall probably returned to Regelbau 105 and built additional facilities but with 600 series?

I still don't know why it was abandoned but I think it was too small on the inside.

In my opinion horribly treated observer infantry periscope SR 9 in a small cramped hallway with entry-defense shooting a central point of communication shelter. In addition, all shelters R 514 apart from East Prussia in the Chamber of combat was not the overpressure valve removing gases fuses out. The crew opened the door closes shooting 434p01 or the entire upper half of the gas and sent directly to the space observer.
