This heavy machine was found this week in Rio de Janeiro and it was being used for a gang robbery banks and was an arm of 3rd Reich.
Any clue?

The machinegun in the background is a MG.42 or one of its deritives. The round the guy holding in the for ground looks more like a .50cal for the American M2 Browning machinegun.

The round in the guys hand has nothing to do with this MG42. The 7,62mm (.308) round of the machine gun will fit in this persons hand, this round is a lot larger; assumely a .50 cal. as yabint mentioned.
