Help me Identify this German Survival Knife

#1

Post by cleaningouttheclosetinpdx » 15 Mar 2015, 22:35

My Friend past away and we found this knife in his belongings. We know he served in Germany from 83-90. He collected many vintage items and I am wondering if anyone can help me ID this Knife. It is marked C. Jul, Herbertz Rostfrei 440. It has a bunch of survival gear in the handle. Is this real militaria or a copy?

You should post pictures.... with those markings probably from the 1970/80s.... as grading steel in that fashion is fairly recent.... depending on the quality, I'd guess East German or Eastern Block....from that period.... but might be a commercial "Rambo" knife, too.

Yes a photo would be nice.

Herbertz is one of the many knife makers in Solingen, Germany.
