Hi Pat -

My MP44 is in 7,9x33mmKurz (8mm Kurz)
My FG42 is in 7,9x57mm (8mm Mauser)

The Kydex grip cover is to make the firearms "featureless" - for use on the public firing range in CA, with a 10 round magazine - for movie-work I can dispense with the Kydex grip cover, it simply unscrews from itself, there is no alteration to either firearm at all.

The SSD guns that are coming, will be in their original calibers, I imagine, as they are in Europe.

I collect WW2 and Cold-War 7,9x33mm Kurz ammunition as a hobby - and there is also a very good supply of modern ammo on-line -
I wouldn't own a reproduction MP44 myself, I certainly wouldn't own a reproduction MP44 in any other caliber.

For me "everything" interesting, unique and historical about the MP44 begins with the caliber.
When Polte designed this round in 1941, they paved the way for the future of military small arms.
It is a very interesting and historical little round.

A nice loader I found last week.
