Now THAT'S a fine collection of selbstladegewehren! I have one k43 with a repro mount and ZF4, but it has a mismatched bolt carrier and firing pin holder. The stock is unsanded and has stippling (small waves) from the stock cutting machine still visible. Most earlier G43's seem to have nicer, smoother stock finishes.

There you go showing off again, Roger. :D I really like that picture.

Here's an older shot of my self-loaders. Some in this pic have been sold, new ones have been acquired, but I've always liked the composition of this shot. :)

Very nice kar98 wehrman, especially the scope! :)

I little christmas gift I got. A Australian Lee Enfield mk.III made in NSW during 1941 and used in the Army in 1945. It has been fully repainted and polished. Unfortuantly its a deac. cause the laws here in Australia are complicated.

Here are my five deacts:
Overview of MG42, MG34, MP44, K98k('ce 43' J.P. Sauer u. Sohn) and P38:
Image

A side by side of the MG42 and MG34. MG42 is Gustloff Werke (dfp) 1943 vintage and the MG34 is Brno (dot) made in 1945:
Image

Here is the MG42 on it's 1943 dated Lafette with all the bits and bobs:
Image

An Erma? or Walther? MP44 (Markings:- Serial no ####ac / 45, cos, qlv, WaAA4, 480(Wa not present but number under eagle)) produced in 1945:

Minty crisp never fired Walther P38 (ac 40) made in 1940:

I have a few questions about my guns.
Firstly what does the 'b' after the serial number on my P38 indicate? I seem to remember the dealer saying it signified November of 1940.

Can anyone clear up the markings on my MP44. I originally, and it seems mistakenly, presumed the 'ac' after the serial number was for Walther but now that appears to be part of the serial number. 'cos' and 'qlv' seem more likely suspects.

Lastly if anyone can tell me what the markings that I have indicated on my MG34 and MG42 signify:

Many thanks,
Tom.

The star markings on the MG34 are probably Israeli markings.
The MU code on the mg42 is the date stamp for 1944. the extra letter after the serial number is part of the serial number. when the serial got to 9999 it went back to 0000 and a letter was added to the end and this continued up throught he alphabet.
