Hi.

I've been reading posts here for some time, and saw all the nice pictures of your collections. Here is my WWII collection:

Thanks.

They are real, but semi only. It's hard to get a full auto licence here in Norway. Anyway, ammunition is expensive here too, so I could not afford to shoot full auto often, need my money for my collection. The Mg-42 is a Jugoslavian made one, but don't know when it was made. Is there anyone who knows when they started production in Jugoslavia for these?

Thanks for the info, they look in fantastic condition. I am pretty sure someone would answer your question about Yugoslavian made mg-42s. I do not know much about them.

My restored mgc68 MP40

Postby pzrwest on 12 Feb 2007 00:03

Part 1
Way back in 1974 I bought an mgc68 MP40 from a hobby shop for huge sum of $84.00cdn and that included the sales tax. Well over the years it kind of seen better days. My kids used to play with it and the magazine got lost the forestock and pistol grips got broken and lost. The knurled barrel nut went missing and accumulated alot of rust. A few months ago I was going through some old boxes we had stored from a cpl moves and low and behold there she was my old mp40. I thought I had lost or traded it off since I hadn't seen it for at least 20 years. Well after checking with firearms Canada I found out that I could keep it provided I didn't alter or convert it. Well I decided to restore it back to it's former glory. Here are the pics before restoration and the final results.
The first set of picks are before I started on it. Some time in the past I had tried to make a set of grips for it out of wood and well they weren't very good

Part 2
Making a dummy magazine for it. I made the magazine out of some basswood and some body metal. The magazine is totally inert no rounds of any kind be put into it

Part 4
This is the final stages of the restoration. I bought a set of replacement grips and forestock pieces for it and made a knurled barrel nut for it and added a sling to it Here's what she looks like now. If my dad was still alive he would have said "I should have been horse whipped for letting it get in such bad shape he taught me better than that"

The MP-43 I paid about 700 $

MP-40: 1000$

Sten MkV: 850$

Bren: 350$

MG-42 ( Jugoslavian M-53 ): 1250$ including tripod, scope and illuminator.

M-98kF1: 80$ ( Bought it from the Army.)

All of them are semi, except the M-98......

Here is a photo of part of my Styer/Radom K98k collection - actually most of it. I have 5 or 6(?) more not in this photo. These are all 660 or bnz coded rifles dated from 1938 thru 45.
I'll get some photos of My MP 40s & MP 43/StG 44s put up later.

I don't have a picture of it, but I have a fully-operational Rifle No. 4, Mk. I Lee-Enfield, but in poor shape. It needs professional work before I'll even dare fire the thing.
