Since this quiz has been dormant for more than half a year it's probable that no-one here knows the answer to:
In the meantime my guess is none.

How about giving us a clue or revealing the right answer and making a new question silviu-angel?silviu-angel wrote:know somebody about number of hungarian CSRG 1915 calibrate in 7,92 mm Mauser with the cuved magazine of 31M LMG

Re: The official AHF small arms quiz thread
BTW has someone happened to see a photo or other corroborating evidence to support the view a Hungarian 7,92x57 mm calibre Chauchat with a 31M LMG magazine ever existed in the first place?
Thanks,
Markus

If my memory serves me well, two years ago we discussed the case of the Hungarian variant of Chauchat LMG http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1243714peeved wrote:BTW has someone happened to see a photo or other corroborating evidence to support the view a Hungarian 7,92x57 mm calibre Chauchat with a 31M LMG magazine ever existed in the first place?

Hi Piotr,
And thanks for the link. Interesting piece of machinery that. However surely the weapon the Hungarian officer is using is a Rudolf Frommer design as it bears an uncanny resemblance to his pre-WWI work. In fact the photo might be pre-WWI also from around the time the Austro-Hungarian army types decided e.g. that Oberleutnant Burstyn's idea of a tracked AFV wasn't worth further development.

Markus

Re: The official AHF small arms quiz thread
There's a very good likeness in Frommer's Swiss patent CH41285 from 1 October 1908 (see below). The modifications apparent in the actual gun would indicate the one in the photo is a later version though.

Re: The official AHF small arms quiz thread
Thank you!
Next question: the photo is not very good (scanned from a low-quality printed book) but I'm sure that this weapon is not hard to identify.
