This picture is confusing me: Afrikakorps helmet and Russian PPsh-41. Did the Germans deliver uniforms of the Afrikakorps to the Eastern front?

Im guessing this pic was taken in southern Russia in the Crimea or part of a summer uniform in the pripet marshes.

What SMG is the third man carrying? Its not a MP40 as far as i can see. Its a pic from the SS-Fallschirmjägerbataillon 500/600.

I think It actually is an MP40. It looks like it has the stock folded under like one. It could be a grease gun though.
