I think it is a Polish Radom (Vis).

No, it's either a FN 1903 or a Tokarev .
No never ever FN 1903 - because of the visible hammer 8-)

By the way, nice pics

Hi Alec,

Spent several years in the US Army. The last time the US Army would have used a lot of enemy weapons (VietNam) could help answer your question.

1. This is up to your Platoon Sgt and Company CO. Some are "by the book" some are "whatever works".
2. If the weapon is more useful or more powerful than what your squad currently has....you might keep it.
3. If you have a good supply of ammo for it...that settles it. Let's you bang away without exhausting your own ammo.
4. A rifle platoon can always use more ammo and more fully automatic weapons/Anti-tank weapons, grenades.
5. Soldiers love to screw around with enemy weapons. They can't help themselves.
6. In a defensive position you don't have to worry about carrying it.
7. Worst case? You run out of ammo or it breaks. Then you just throw it in the bushes.

Until then, it may be very valuable....and a CO with common sense will appreciate that the Company has the extra firepower. Yeah....and you figure out a way to hang on to your issued weapon. Even if it travels wrapped up in a blanket in the supply truck. However, if your issued weapon is a piece of Sh*t (Kar 98 compared to Thompson SMG) you might just declare your Kar a "combat loss". If your unit is in regular contact, you can always pick up another one off the ground.

Or, sell the Thompson to some rear-echelon desk jocky for a small fortune, then party with your buddies.

Have a feeling that the Heer on the OstFront would have been pretty similar....

For some reason, the second pic didn't show. It should now.

Sturm this is not MG 26, but ex Yugoslav Zbrojovka M 37 or ZB 30 (J). ZB 30 (J) is the factory model designation.
